Mrs Caws shop was at 1281 Bristol Road South, next to the "King George V" public house. Cigarettes are well-promoted in the shop advertising on this 1930s view. A Midland Counties ice cream sign partly on the main shops front suggesting they both belonged to the same family? It then had nice leaded upstairs windows and an arcade type front doorway. A billboard posting can just be seen on it's side wall.
The front has changed many times over the years, but the 2015 view shows role reversals. The small 30's Ice Cream Parlor extension has has grown a first floor with it's curves hidden by the Martin & Co. estate agents sign above it. The Brunch Box is the is 1/2 of the original house now.
Just in case you didn't get my first post , here it is again .I was talking to my 95 year old mum about this sweet shop today. she grew up in Northfield in the 20s and 30s.
