The Bread Man

A Co-op electric bread delivery van 1950/60's. He would bring the bread to your door in a wicker basket with extras, such as fresh cream cakes. This one was on show at a Stirchley co-op open day. He would be a very friendly sort of a guy, who you wouldn't hesitate to ask in for a cup of tea.

Co-Op Butchers

Co-op Butchers on the site of the Bell Inn, corner of Bristol Road South & Bell Lane. Ten Acres & Stirchley Co-op (TASCOS) began in Stirchley, but had many branches all over. Tascos ident ceased in 1971.That's Arthur Sansom as a young apprentice on the right. (photo: Mrs HJ Sansom)
