Bristol Road South Tramway around 1927/1953

Bristol Road South 1927. I think it's by the new Kalamazoo and that building on the right is now the Police Station. Only two out of all those newly planted trees survive today! It took 50 minutes to get from Navigation Street to Rednal then at a cost of 5d (5 old pence, 144 were in a pound) The police station is now closed and private housing, also Kalamazoo has been taken over by another company.

This image is amongst the shopping area. Trams ceased in June 1953. Looks to outside where Woolworths was later built.
