Name That Place #10


'Name That Place' #10. A 200-year-old yew tree? One found in a Welsh village has been dated to 5,000 years-old. Usually found grown in the UK in church yards for safety, the wood was used by medieval long bow makers. Answers below please?

Sadly the tree died? Possibly from lack of ground water in surrounding area. And cut down recently 2024? A plaque would have been nice as probably the oldest tree in the high Street.

  1. On the old Bristol Road, opposite where Woolworths was ? I must have walked past so many times and didn't notice that is a yew tree !
