1895 -2015 from 25,000 staff it its peak to about 400 now! looking west (all this now demolished)
Nice aerial view of Longbridge car factory, showing rail station at the centre in 1978 just before the launch of the Mini-Metro in 1980. The row of trees is the River Rae, it disappeared underground beneath the station and re-appeared in Blue Bell fields 1/2 mile away then. Between 1895-1901 owned by White & Pike, Herbert Baron Austin 1905-1941, now owned by Shanghai Automotive Industry China.
