Frogmill Rail Crossing

Frogmill Crossing (Rubery Lane or Bedlam Lane at the time of 1910 map) Northfield. C. 1955. The Longbridge to Halesowen line, 1/2 mile from Rubery Station. See old map, bottom center. A line higher also ran to Frankley Reservoir to take stone when it was being built. Small brook also here is the River Rea, via Ballam's Wood. The railway has long gone and the road is now widened and the fields are being pushed further away (photo: DJ Norton)

Three branch lines can be seen, one going to Frankley Reservoir (during building period) and another going to the Lunatic Asylum Hospital. Frogmill Farm is still there today and carboot sales take place in it's fields most Saturdays, weather permitting.
