Northfield Mill

Old Mill in Mill Lane. Two people sitting on damn wall & looks like a signal box at Northfield station behind? The Mill and mill pond have long been removed, but the site is preserved as a wildlife park that stretches right up to Hawksley Mill Lane.

Northfield Mill, also known as Digbeth Mill. W. Morris once ran a shop.

The River Rea once fed the small reservoir shown above via a long channel that ran alongside Mill Lane for about 200 yards, the river though turned right and still goes under the railway and on to Wychall reservoir that was used to top up water on the Worcester to Birmingham canal.

River Rea looking in a southerly direction. Wall in the distance may have been the feed off point to the mill stream or it may be the remains of Hawksey MIll, that was also in this area.
